Moms Offering Moms Support ®

The MOMS Club of Schertz Area embraces its responsibility to complete service projects. While all MOMS Club chapters are required to do one service project each year, the MOMS Club of Schertz has reached out to support our community and others in multiple ways; often completing four or more service projects each year! The more involved our MOMS are in our communities, the more opportunities that we see to make a difference in both the lives of others as well as in the lives of our friends and families. Here are a few things that the MOMS Club of Schertz have completed in the past year:

Food Donations to the RACAP:   Every year we collect food for Randolph Area Christian Assistance Program (RACAP), a non-profit organization that provides food, prescription medications, and rent and utilities assistance to individuals who are in need.  They help feed over 135 families in a month within our local area. Jessie Fisher, the Program Director, gave us a tour of the facilities and storage rooms. The food pantry is a vital resource to those individuals in our community who may otherwise go hungry.

Schertz Public Library:  Every year we make a donation to the Schertz Public Library to purchase books for the Children's Library. The MOMS Club then organizes a "Sticker Party" where stickers were placed in the books that say, "Donated by the MOMS Club of Schertz."

Mother to Mother fund: This fund is the only charity sponsored by MOMS Club International. This exemplary charity is committed to helping its members receive speedy monetary assistance in the event of a tragedy such as natural disasters, personal emergencies, and other catastrophic events.  In the past, the MOMS Club of Schertz donated $650 to aid those affected by the devastating wildfires that burned over 300 homes in Bastrop, TX.

Holiday Program: In December 2014, MOMS Club of Schertz adopted two single parent families.   Many of our MOMS Club members worked together to purchase and coordinate the giving of these gifts.

We also did a fantastic Santa photo fundraiser.  We had a Polar Express Pajama party topped off by a visit from the big guy himself. The kids all had a chance to visit with Santa and get their picture taken by one of our chapter’s members, who happens to be a great photographer. Our members then bought the digital images for their own use for a nominal fee. Proceeds from the event will help sponsor a birthday party for an emergency shelter and foster home located in our area in May.
